Skullgrin is a Decepticon Pretender — one of a group of Transformers from the late G1 era who concealed themselves inside large organic-looking shells to blend into alien environments. His outer shell takes the form of a horned, demonic monster, while his inner robot converts into a Cybertronian tank. In the Marvel Comics run, Skullgrin was given an unexpectedly layered storyline: sent to Earth to acquire fuel, he ends up becoming a Hollywood monster movie actor, his terrifying shell mistaken for elaborate makeup. That absurd, darkly comic arc made him one of the more memorable Pretenders despite his brief run. This Legacy Deluxe Class figure brings his inner robot into the modern line with updated engineering and G1-faithful deco.
