Carl Creel was a boxer and small-time criminal when Loki slipped a potion into his drink and gave him the ability to absorb the properties of anything he touches — stone, steel, wood, energy, even Thor’s own Asgardian power. He becomes what he contacts: his body, his wrecking ball, his chain all shift to match the material, making him one of the few villains who can go toe-to-toe with Thor and mean it. In the original Secret Wars, Creel was among the villains transported to Battleworld, where the scale of the conflict was unlike anything he’d faced before. He’s also one of the few Marvel villains with a genuine long-term relationship — his partnership with Titania, another Secret Wars creation, became one of the more unexpectedly human threads in the wider villain roster. This Marvel Legends figure captures the classic Absorbing Man look: the wrecking ball, the chain, the raw physicality of a man who can become anything.
