Akihiro — known as Daken — is the son Logan never knew he had, born in 1946 Japan and raised with a deep hatred for his father engineered by the Romulus organisation. His mutation mirrors Wolverine's in structure but diverges in execution: three bone claws including one that emerges from beneath his wrist rather than between his knuckles, an accelerated healing factor, and pheromone manipulation that allows him to alter the emotional states of those around him — inducing fear, aggression, or disorientation at will. During Dark Reign, Norman Osborn recruited Daken to serve as Wolverine in his Dark Avengers, giving him his father's costume and placing him on a team built entirely around corrupted legacy identities. Daken wore the role with contempt, using the Avengers platform as cover for his own agenda while Osborn used H.A.M.M.E.R. to consolidate power in the wake of the Skrull invasion. This Legends release captures his Dark Avengers-era look in the classic Wolverine costume.
